From looking at so many reality TV shows about weddings I see what Erika Engstrom is talking about when she says a bride is looked at as a physical object. the show Bridal Plasty especially proves her point I believe. These days women forget why they are getting married and are looked at as just objects and not seeing the big picture and that's having a life long partnership with your significant other. The show BridalPlasty I believe is a perfect example. The show is a competition with 12 brides to be who compete for their dream wedding and also a list of plastic surgery procedures to get done before their big day. It's just crazy to me that women will go to this extreme just for that ONE day. They have to be away from their fiances for 4 months. I wouldn't want to be away from the man I love and am about to spend the rest of my life with for that long. What if their fiance doesn't like the way they have transformed? Then what? They are stuck with it. The man is suppose to love you for just the way you are. I know my boyfriend wouldn't like for me to go on a show like this. I wonder if the show interviews the husbands to be their opinions on what their fiances are doing.
This show is absolutely disgusting! I under stand wanting to look perfect on your wedding day, but that "Bridalplacty" takes it to the extreme! I can not even fathom why they would make some sort of game out of a wedding! I can even see wanting to get plastic surgery before your wedding, but that is going to far! If you are truly unhappy with the way you look, there is a way to go about it without being ridiculous.
